It's kinda funny. My path to CS:S is a weird one. First of all, I'm not a noob when it comes to playing games competitively. I started playing online games seriously with Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. I played THPS4 to THUG2 online, and I was one of the best. Seriously, if there was a list of the best players during THPS4, I'd should be in the top 25. Only problem back then was there really wasn't anywhere to go up (this is before the World Cyber Games put a Tony Hawk game on the game list). So I decided to leave the game for Madden and NCAA football. I played in 4 Madden Challenge events in Dallas. One year I played 5 different Madden and NCAA tourneys in a 3 week span. I was really into it back then. But I left that scene because of the games changing every year and the increasing amount of annoying idiots entering the scene (if you think CS:S is bad, you haven't played Madden). All of these games are individual games. My next goal was to try out a team game.
My best friend introduced me to CS:S. At first I absolutely hated it, but I continue to play it because it was the only game he could kick my ass in. After a while, I started to get a knack for the game. That's when I decided to join INDY, but it was just to have fun. They introduced me to scrimming and CAL, but around that time, my itch for sim racing overtook me. I left CS:S for Forza Motorsport 2 for a couple of months. Once the lobbies of that game drained out quickly (this is before CGS decided to put Forza 2 on their game list), I came back to CS:S for more.
So that's my story of competitive gaming. I don't know what drove me to write that, but I guess I wanted to do something different for an Introduce Me thread.
